Chippewa Valley Rally is Jan. 31

The Chippewa Valley Rally — an annual trip that area business leaders make to talk to legislators in Madison — will be on Jan. 31.

A team of business and community leaders will spend the day talking with legislators, networking with state officials and having a luncheon with Gov. Scott Walker as the invited guest.

Registration is open for the daylong trip sponsored by chambers of commerce from Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and Menomonie. The cost of attending is $79. Register online at tinyurl.com/yaczglga.

The chambers have arranged a charter bus for transportation to and from Madison.

Labor expert will explain local data

Results of a local workforce survey will be shared at a luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 12, on Eau Claire’s west side.

Scott Hodek, an economic adviser at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, will discuss data from local business surveys on difficult-to-fill positions, concerns about impending retirements, sought-after degrees and other jobs data.

The presentation will be 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Wild Ridge Golf Course, 3905 Kane Road.

The cost is $15 per person, which includes a breakfast buffet.

RSVP by Wednesday to reserve your seat. Register online at www.eauclaire-wi.com/Economic-Update, or call 715-834-0070.
