RCU plans another Minnesota branch

Eau Claire-based credit union RCU announced plans last week to open a new office near Stillwater, Minn.

The full-service branch is expected to open this spring at 13165 60th St. N. in Oak Park Heights, Minn.

This will be RCU’s fifth branch in the Twin Cities metro area. The credit union already has locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, Edina and St. Paul.

Engaged workforce workshop is Feb. 27

Creating an engaged workforce at a business will be the topic of a free interactive workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 27, at UW-Eau Claire’s Davies Center.

College of Business management faculty members Gabi Eissa, Ann Rupnow and Rebecca Wyland will lead the workshop from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Ojibwe Ballroom.

The presentation will discuss how businesses can create a team of dedicated employees to increase work performance, boost profit margins and raise shareholder returns.

C.S. Construction joins Century Club

Eau Claire contractor C.S. Construction completed more than 100 home energy efficiency projects last year, earning special recognition from the U.S. Department of Energy.

C.S. and two Milwaukee companies — Weatherization Services and INTEC-Insulation Technologies — were given the Energy Star 2018 Century Club Award on Feb. 14 at a ceremony in Wisconsin Dells.

Three area firms lauded by DPI

Three western Wisconsin businesses were recognized by the state Department of Public Instruction for their work with schools.

Northwest Builders of Rice Lake, Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls and JB Systems of Eau Claire were among 35 Wisconsin businesses to get the Business Friends of Education Award.
