CVTG holds ‘Out of Order’ auditions
The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild will hold auditions for its February production “Out of Order” at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, and Tuesday, Dec. 12, at The Grand Theatre, 102 W. Grand Ave.
The guild is looking for a cast of six men and four women, with parts available for people anywhere from 20 to 60 years old.
“Out of Order” is a comedy by Ray Cooney about a junior British government offical’s evening at the Westminster Hotel with one of the opposition’s secretaries. Things go downhill from there.

Library opens new exhibit
“Old and New Works,” an exhibit featuring artwork by Anders Shafer, will be on display today through Jan. 7 at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, 400 Eau Claire St.
Shafer is a professor emeritus of UW-Eau Claire, where he taught for 43 years and was a Max Schoenfeld Distinguished Professor.
The works he selected were completed from the 1970s to the present that he believes were significant to his development as an artist. Many of them are sequential visual stories.
Over the course of his career, Shafer has had work in around 200 national and regional competitions and won over 45 awards.
An artist reception for “Old and New Works” will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the library’s second floor gallery.
The exhibit may be viewed at any time during the library’s regular hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays.
Theater guild holds auditions
MENOMONIE — The Menomonie Theater Guild will hold auditions for its production of “Company” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, or Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the theater guild, 502 West 2nd St.
There are 14 roles available for men and women ages 25 to 55. More information about the roles may be found at the Menomonie Public Library, 600 Wolske Bay Road.
Auditioners should prepare 16 to 32 bars of an upbeat tempo song from a musical, prepare for a movement audition and plan to read from the script. Accompaniment will be provided.
Performances will take place Feb. 23 through Feb. 25 and March 2 through March 4.
