OneFest releases first lineup
CHIPPEWA FALLS — The Chippewa Valley’s first Christian music festival, OneFest, has released its inaugural lineup for the festival, which will take place July 28-29 at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, 225 Edward St.
Main stage acts will include Sanctus Real, Cloverton, Love & the Outcome, Citizen Way, Mandisa and Tenth Avenue North.
A side stage will feature local and regional artists such as Light 45, 513Free, Brayton Meyer, Brady Luke and Sparrows Rising. An additional side stage will offer gospel music.
Tickets for the festival are $100 for a family pass, $40 for single admission and $20 for children — 4 and under are free. For more information, visit the festival’s website, one-fest.com.
Spend nights with Vernon, S. Carey
The Oxbow Hotel is offering guests the opportunity to experience food and music with musicians Sean Carey of S. Carey and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver for two overnight experiences during “Lock Inn at the Oxbow.”
On the nights of April 10 and May 9, fans of Vernon and Carey can experience an evening curated entirely by the musicians’ musical, culinary and cultural sensibilities.
The evenings will include a playlist filled with songs selected by Vernon and Carey throughout the property and a six-course dinner crafted by The Lakely’s chef Nathan Berg that guests will enjoy while Vernon and Carey perform.
After dinner, other musical guests will join the two musicians for collaborative performances on stage.
There are 30 packages available for each night starting at $250 per person. In addition to the dinner and musical performances, packages include a late night movie showing, morning vinyl vinyasa yoga, brunch from a prix fixe menu and a limited edition event poster.

Regis schools start theater group
Regis Catholic Schools has announced the creation of Regis Community Theatre, which will offer several shows every year that focus on religious themes.
Anyone in the community is welcome to audition, but the theater is focused on the families, staff, faculty and alumni at Regis Catholic Schools.
The idea was created by Regis High School teacher Judine Brey, who will also manage the group.
Its first production will be “The Miracle Worker” that will premiere in August. A Christmas show in December and a Lent/Easter show in spring are also planned.
Auditions for “The Miracle Worker” will take place at 7 p.m. June 25 and 26 in the Fr. Dowd Auditorium at the high school, 2100 Fenwick Ave.
Rehearsals will begin July 2 and three performances are scheduled for Aug. 10-12.
Flamenco group comes to Chippewa
CHIPPEWA FALLS — La Banda Morisca, a group that combines flamenco, Andalusian folk music and the musical traditions of three monotheist religions, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 S. High St.
The group is made up of passionate musicians who have been involved with bands from the world music and traditional Spanish music circuits.
Their own repertoire includes oriental and occidental influences from the Mediterranean.
The group has released two CDs, and is presenting its second album, “Algarabya” (2016) internationally. It’s music combines modern and ancient instruments with vocals. The group will also be traveling with a flamenco dancer.
