Presentation on Cacao and Costa Rica:
Master Gardener Ellen Terwilliger will present on Cacao and Costa Rica during the Eau Claire Area Master Gardener Association meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Eau Claire County UW-Extension office, 227 First St. W., Altoona.
Terwilliger will share information she learned about how cacao is grown and processed from traveling to Costa Rica ealier this year and staying at an organic cacao plantation.
Taste-testing will be included. The public is invited to attend.
Annual Tree & Shrub Sale:
The 35th annual Land Conservation Tree Program is now open and runs through Jan. 31.
The program offers a selection of native trees and shrubs for purchase. More than one million trees have been sold since the program started in 1983.
A maximum of 500 seedlings per order can be bought. Pickup is in spring.
The program is open to all. All orders are first come, first served, and quantities are limited.
