From do-it-yourself projects to a seminar about making better use of space, there are options for different interests at this year’s Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association’s Home & Garden Show.
The event in its 40th year runs from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center, 3456 Craig Road.
Friday’s events will be geared toward those who are 55-plus with seminars on the following topics: Making better use of your space, downsizing and building or buying a smaller home, apartment living in the Eau Claire area, making your home handicap accessible and different assisted living choices.
Attendees who are 55 or older will get a $1 discount on tickets bought at the door before 5 p.m. on Friday.
Family Day is Saturday is family day, with kid-friendly events planned from building a birdhouse to making a dragonfly decoration. Other activities include games, an activity station and face painting.
Sunday is do-it-yourself day, with two events planned.
Participants will paint a wine glass or wood sign with guidance from an artist during a class from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for a flower wine glass or $25 for a four-foot-wide wood sign.
Get Your Succulents On is a class from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and teaches participants how to create a festive garden for a home or office. Experts will answer questions about how to maintain your mini garden. The cost is $15 for a small planter or $30 for a large one.
Advance tickets are $6 for a daily pass through Thursday. The cost increases to $8 at the door. Children 12 and younger get in for free.
