Steve Renfree will no longer oversee Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts activities after the organization’s board of directors ended his employment.
Renfree’s dismissal was announced in a news release issued Tuesday by the the Mabel Tainter. He was the arts center’s executive director. Renfree’s last day was Friday.
Mabel Tainter officials recently announced an investigation into a Mabel Tainter employee accused of sexual assault at the arts center on Dec. 9. Renfree is not the person being investigated, the release states.
The Mabel Tainter’s board of directors will oversee arts center daily operations as a search for a new executive director proceeds.
The board will conduct a search for a new executive director soon, but no definite timeline has been determined. “We look forward to filling this vital position soon to ensure the Mabel’s vitality for generations to come,” board of directors vice president Michelle Dingwall said.
