A New Auburn man is accused of sending nude photos of his ex-girlfriend to another man to get a break on his rent.
Tyler D. Vold, 19, was charged Thursday in Eau Claire County Court with a felony count of possession of child pornography and 11 misdemeanor counts of posting or publishing a depiction of a person without consent knowing it is a private representation.
Vold is free on a $1,000 signature bond and returns to court April 12.
As a condition of bond, Vold cannot have unsupervised contact with girls other than family members.
Vold’s co-defendant, Joshua J. Weichert, 23, 3104 Garner St., was previously charged with two felony counts each of sexual assault of a child younger than 16 and possession of child pornography, and one felony count of sexual exploitation of a child. Weichert was also charged with four misdemeanor counts of posting or publishing a depiction of a person without consent knowing it is a private representation.
Weichert returns to court March 5 for arraignment.
According to the criminal complaint:
Eau Claire police investigated multiple child and adult sex crimes committed by Weichert from fall 2016 to January.
Weichert admitted to distributing nude images of Vold’s ex-girlfriend without her consent.
Weichert also admitted to having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl on two occasions at his apartment. He also had a nude video image of that girl.
Police met with Vold’s ex-girlfriend on Jan. 14.
The woman said she and Vold subleased an apartment from Weichert near Golf Road in fall 2016. Vold took nude images of the woman, and she made him promise never to share them.
They ended their relationship in December 2016 and moved out of the apartment.
Vold told the woman he shared her nude images with Weichert as payment for rent.
The woman received a Snapchat message from Weichert on Jan. 14 asking for more nude photos of her.
Weichert threatened to share the photos he already possessed of the woman if he didn’t receive more photos.
Vold told the woman Weichert had shared her nude image via a group message on Snapchat.
Police met with Weichert on Jan. 18. He said Vold and the woman did not pay rent. He received a nude image of the woman from Vold for a reduction in the utilities owed and agreed there would be some reduction in rent for the woman’s nude photo.
Weichert said he was low on money. Weichert admitted he was going to continue to blackmail the woman once he got more photos of her to make her give him money.
Weichert said Vold had given him seven photos and five videos of the woman. In searching Weichert’s phone, police found 15 images and 12 videos of the woman.
The 15-year-old girl told police she had sex with Weichert in fall 2016. She said he took a nude photo of her and sent it to Vold.
