An Eau Claire man is accused of downloading thousands of images of child pornography on his computer.

Timothy C. Vorass, 60, 931 Richard Drive, is charged in Eau Claire County Courtwith five felony counts ofpossession of child pornography.

According to the criminal complaint:

Authorities received a cyber tip April 16 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that suspected child pornography was coming from a computer at Vorass’ address.

Police contacted Vorass April 18, and he said he had no knowledge of images of child pornography.

Vorass told an officer he didn’t want his computer searched.

The officer told Vorass he had enough evidence to seize Vorass’ desktop computer and apply for a search warrant to examine its contents.

After realizing his computer was going to be seized, Vorass told the officer he had dozens of images of child pornography on his computer.

Vorass said he downloads the images and then normally deletes them. But he said he currently had images of child pornography on his computer.

The officer obtained a search warrant and seized Vorass’ computer.

While examining the computer’s contents, the officer found thousands of images of child pornography.

The officer also located dozens of search terms from Vorass’ internet history that were indicative of child pornography.

Most of the images on Vorass’ computer appeared to be of girls under age 13.

If convicted of the five charges, Vorass could be sentenced to up to 75 years in prison.
