What does this event consist of?
We will be showing two movies, “Ferdinand the Bull” and “The Greatest Showman.” We will also have two food trucks, and we will be serving popcorn, soda, juice and water. The event is intended to be a fun time for families.
Why food trucks?
Having food trucks be a part of this seems like a way to make it different in a good way. Food trucks are popular these days, and we want to give people coming to this event something extra to enjoy.
Where did the idea for this event originate?
We saw something like this was put on in the Madison area. Another parks and recreation department there offered it to families, and we thought it sounds like a really fun idea. So we decided to see if we could do it.
This event originally was scheduled for Friday, Aug. 24. Was finding a time to reschedule it difficult?
Yes, finding another time to do this was definitely a challenge.
We have lots of weddings and other events taking place in River Prairie. We wanted to do this before the school year starts if possible, and most of the rest of September was booked.
Thankfully, we found this date.
Will this become an annual event?
We will have to see. There are fees we have to pay to show the movies and we have to rent the movie screen there too. But we want to make sure we put on a good show for people whoattend.
