WHITEHALL — Two Minnesota residents were arrested and booked into the Trempealeau County Jail for possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop Wednesday, according to the Trempealeau County sheriff’s office.
According to a news release:
Trempealeau County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop at around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. Officials identified the driver as Ashley Thelen, 30, and a passenger as Jeremy Brandes, 40, both of Rushford, Minn.
The sheriff’s office requested the Independence Police Department’s K-9 unit to assist. The unit was alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of methamphetamine.
Brandes and Thelen were arrested and booked into the Tremealeau County Jail for possession with intent to deliver, probation violation and warrants.
The investigation is ongoing.
