At least nine candidates for Wisconsin governor are scheduled to attend a forum Saturday, Feb. 24, in Eau Claire.

The candidate forum offers an unusual format in which members of the public will get the opportunity to interview candidates on topics such as education, the environment, health care and the economy.

The event is from 1 to 3 p.m. in Room 103 at Chippewa Valley Technical College, 620 W. Clairemont Ave.

The nine Democrats organizers say are committed to attend are: state Rep. Dana Wachs of Eau Claire, state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout of Alma, government reform advocate Mike McCabe of Madison, state schools Superintendent Tony Evers of Madison, Milwaukee businessman Andy Gronik, former state Democratic Party Chairman Matt Flynn of Milwaukee, disability advocate Jeff Rumbaugh of Madison, recent Stanford University graduate Bob Harlow of Madison and small-business owner Michele Doolan of Cross Plains. They are among 17 Democrats who have filed papers to challenge Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

The forum is sponsored by Working Families Party, Our Wisconsin Revolution Eau Claire/Chippewa Chapter, Indivisible Chippewa Valley and UW-Eau Claire Progressive Students and Alumni. For more information, visit Our Wisconsin Revolution Eau Claire/Chippewa Chapter’s Facebook page.
