Former state Democratic Party Chairman Matt Flynn changed his plans so he will be able to attend Saturday morning’s candidate forum in Eau Claire for those seeking to challenge Gov. Scott Walker in November.
Including him, there will be seven Democratic contenders at the public forum from 10 a.m. to noon at the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre, 1814 N. Oxford Ave.
Event sponsor Citizen Action Organizing Cooperative of Western Wisconsin already got confirmations from state Rep. Dana Wachs of Eau Claire, state firefighters union head Mahlon Mitchell of Fitchburg, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, former state Rep. Kelda Roys of Madison, government reform advocate Mike McCabe of Madison and Milwaukee businessman Andy Gronik.
State schools Superintendent Tony Evers will send a surrogate. Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, D-Alma, has a commitment and will not attend, according to her office.
