ARCADIA — The Arcadia public school district has named a Westby native and UW-La Crosse graduate as its new superintendent.
Lance Bagstad will take over the district on July 1, replacing Louie Ferguson, who is retiring after 19 years with the district, including nine as superintendent.
Bagstad, 49, is currently a high school principal in Clintonville. He previously served as a special education and social studies teacher in the Bangor school district.
He graduated from UW-La Crosse and earned a master’s degree and superintendent certification from Viterbo University in La Crosse.
The board selected Bagstad from a pool of 20 applicants and voted unanimously to offer him the job, according to a statement from the district.
