BARRON — Barron County sheriff’s deputies shut down a large marijuana growing operation Thursday morning near Comstock.

Deputies seized more than 300 marijuana plants in a sophisticated growing operation in a barn on 19th Avenue, according to the Barron County sheriff’s office.

Michael Haney, 37, who lived on the property where the marijuana was found, was taken to jail on charges of manufacturing marijuana.

The arrest was the result of a monthlong investigation that included assistance from the Rusk and Washburn county sheriff’s offices and the state Division of Criminal Investigation.
