Fall Creek High School’s head football coach has pleaded not guilty to one felony count of second-degree sexual assault.
Joshua J. Tumm, 36, 610 N. State St., Fall Creek, appeared Tuesday in Eau Claire County Court. He is accused of sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman.
According to the criminal complaint:
A man flagged down a Fall Creek police officer on Dec. 29 and said his wife had been out drinking with friends.
The man said he made contact with the friends at a local bar and they told him his wife was extremely intoxicated and that Tumm had offered to give her a ride home.
Knowing his wife wasn’t home, the man went to Tumm’s residence.
In Tumm’s garage, the man saw his wife lying on the back seat of Tumm’s truck. Her shoes were off and her pants were down to her knees.
Tumm told the man “it’s not what it looks like.”
The woman told police Jan. 5 that she did not consent to anything that happened between her and Tumm on the night in question.
Fall Creek school district officials Feb. 6 placed Tumm, who also is a teacher, on unpaid suspension.
