CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Chippewa Falls man who was accused of being armed while intoxicated in January has been placed on probation for one year.
Jamison C. Short, 37, 3641 130th St., pleaded guilty Monday in Chippewa County Court to disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier. As part of a plea deal, the element of using a dangerous weapon was removed from the charge.
Judge Steve Cray placed Short on probation for one year, with a requirement he pay a $543 fine and attend counseling. Short cannot consume alcohol, illegal drugs, or enter taverns while on probation.
According to the criminal complaint, Short had become intoxicated on Jan. 28 at his home in Lake Hallie when he made several threats to kill a woman in the house. He went to another room and retrieved a gun. The woman told police she heard sounds as if he were loading it. She was able to take the weapon away from him before police arrived. A blood draw later showed Short had a 0.19 blood alcohol level.
