MENOMONIE — The City Council was given a brief progress update Monday on the Main Street from 13th to 17th streets construction project.
Greg Adams, project engineer said in a letter to the city that the contractor, Haas Son Excavating, has begun working from 17th Street west to 13th Street. The project started last month.
So far, six trees have been removed for new water service laterals, asphalt pavement was removed, and new water service connections were installed at eight properties.
Looking ahead, Haas plans to continue installing new water service connections through Friday. The city water department has had staff on site to verify water services and discuss upcoming water man connections.
