MENOMONIE — A man was charged Tuesday in Dunn County Court with 10th-offense operating while intoxicated.
Thomas S. Barthman, 53, of Holcombe was charged with operating while intoxicated, 10th and subsequent offense, and operating a motor vehicle while revoked.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Aug. 15 at 12:44 p.m., a Dunn County sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle in the town of Sheridan that was traveling at varying speeds, swerving and moving over the fog line and centerline on Highway 64.
The deputy pulled over the vehicle, and when she spoke with Barthman she noted his slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and the odor of intoxicants. After conducting field sobriety tests, she arrested Barthman.
Barthman has nine previous OWI convictions from St. Croix County in 1990, Dunn County in 1991 and 2012, New Jersey in 1991, Polk County in 1993, 1999, 2005 and 2008, and Barron County in 2002.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 28.
