CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Cornell man is accused of intoxicated driving and causing a crash that injured five people.
Kile S. Trevithick, 24, 114 Main St., was charged in Chippewa County Court with five counts of operating while intoxicated-causing injury, five counts of hit-and-run-causing injury and one count of operating while revoked.
According to the criminal complaint:
The crash happened at 6:48 p.m. Sept. 28 on 273rd Street, near 257th Avenue, near Holcombe. Trevithick exited his vehicle and fled into a field to the south, eyewitnesses told authorities.
Trevithick was taken into custody at 7:27 p.m. at his residence. A preliminary breath test showed he had a 0.039 blood alcohol level. Trevithick admitted he had consumed three alcoholic drinks before the crash.
