Amateur Baseball roundup (6/16): 19U Legion bounces back

The Eau Claire 19-and-under Post 53 Legion team bounced back from a Friday loss to down La Crosse Post 52 10-1 on Saturday in La Crosse.

Memorial grad Jack Brown, recently named the Division 1 pitcher of the year by wissports.net, hurled a complete game and stuck out four while issuing no walks and scattering five hits. 

Jaelin Williams was 3-for-5 at the plate in the game.

The Eau Claire 17-and-under Legion team beat Farmington (Minn.) 5-1 on Saturday in the Burnsville (Minn.) tournament.

Luke Roney threw a complete game for Eau Claire and struck out six, while Brett Johnson racked up three hits at the plate.

Bears win big in Augusta

The Eau Claire Bears beat the Augusta Athletics 18-0 in Chippewa River Baseball League action on Saturday in Augusta.

Josh Halling, Reed Pecha and Jordan Dickerson all had three hits for Eau Claire. Will Mallet-Brown was 2-for-3 for the Athletics.

EC Rivermen 1-4, Bloomer Fighting Woodticks 0-5: Tyler Gray threw a complete game for Eau Claire in their game one win, while Noah Lane racked up a pair of hits for Bloomer in game two. 

Osseo Merchants 12-3, Tilden Tigers 1-4: The Merchants hit four home runs in their game one victory. Ryan Feitag had one of them and also collected four RBIs.

Carl Krumenauer got the win in game two for the Tigers.
