The Eau Claire Express lost their third straight game on Saturday, taking a 5-1 road loss at the hands of the Bismarck Larks.
The game was tied at 1-1 in the fifth inning thanks to an RBI single by Eau Claire’s Scott Ogrin in the top of the frame, but the Larks pushed across one run in the sixth and three more in the seventh to grab the victory.
Michael Farnell’s solo home run in the sixth put the Larks ahead for good.
The Express got a strong outing from starting pitcher Josh Gaworski, who pitched six innings and allowed just two hits and two runs, one of which was unearned. Eau Claire’s offense couldn’t capitalize on nine hits, and stranded eight runners on base.
Andrew Pratt had a 3-for-4 day at the plate for the Express.
