Eric Yang and Cal Elvers both homered and the Willmar Stingers jumped all over the Eau Claire Express early in a 12-5 win Monday night at Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar, Minn.
The loss is the fifth straight for the Express, who tied the game with four runs in the top of the third on a two-run double from Scott Ogrin, a sac fly by Andrew Pratt and a Nick Brueser RBI groundout. But the Stingers put up five in the bottom of the frame, keyed by Elvers’ three-run shot, to take back control.
Andrew Dean took the loss after giving up nine runs on eight hits in just two innings of work. Only five of the runs were earned.
