The Eau Claire Express dropped their second-straight extra-inning game Friday night at Carson Park, losing 6-5 in 10 innings to the Mankato MoonDogs.
The Express had the winning run cut down at the plate in the ninth, and Garrett Mitchell scored the eventual winning run on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th.
Eau Claire had 17 hits in the game, but just three after the fifth inning and all but a Connor Laspina double were singles.
The teams traded three-run frames in the fifth, with Ryan Bishop and Laspina knocking in runs with RBI singles in the Express half. Nick Brueser scored the tying run on a groundout by Mitchell Buban.
Isaiah Davis took the loss despite giving up just one run in 4q innings of relief. Starter Andrew Dean went five innings, giving up five runs on six hits and five walks.
