DETROIT — The Detroit Pistons exercised their 2018-19 options on forwards Stanley Johnson and Rice Lake native Henry Ellenson on Sunday. They also waived guard Beno Udrih. The team announced the moves Sunday. Udrih did not appear in any games for Detroit this preseason. He averaged 5.8 points in 39 games for the Pistons last season. Johnson and Ellenson were first-round draft picks in 2015 and 2016. Johnson has averaged 6.2 points in 150 career games. Ellenson averaged 3.2 points
Former Rice Lake standout Henry Ellenson scored 21 points on 7-for-18 from the floor in the Detroit Pistons 92-91 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in NBA Summer League action on Saturday in Orlando. Ellenson, about to enter his second year in the league, scored 12 points in the opening quarter for Detroit. He also grabbed nine rebounds and played 30 minutes.

The Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo won the Most Improved Player award, following Malcolm Brogdon’s victory for Rookie of the Year to open the show hosted by Drake.
