Students want UW-ECplant to start usingnatural gas or biomass

UW-Eau Claire should stop burning coal and switch to natural gas or biomass to heat the campus, student Katrina Smith said Tuesday at the university's Davies Center.

Smith, president of the The Conservationists club at UW-Eau Claire, was handing out brochures and postcards asking students to contact Gov. Jim Doyle and the UW System Board of Regents about phasing out coal plants at UW System campuses and all other state facilities.
