An Augusta man, who police say took nearly five dozen pictures up women's skirts, faces five misdemeanor charges.
David R. Von Haden, 41, S8190 Highway V, was charged this week in Eau Claire County Court with five counts of disorderly conduct.
Von Haden is free on a $500 signature bond and returns to court Dec. 8.
As conditions of probation, Von Haden cannot possess cameras or approach women he does not know.
According to the criminal complaint:
A woman told police she was shopping at an Eau Claire retail store Oct. 2 when she felt something touch the back of her thigh.
When she turned around the woman saw a man with what appeared to be a digital camera or phone taking a picture up her skirt.
The man immediately stood up and walked away. The woman followed the man and got his vehicle's plate number.
Officers later found the man, identified as Von Haden, driving toward his residence. He had a digital camera and cell phone in his pockets. He admitted taking pictures up the skirts of women at three Eau Claire stores on Oct. 2.
Von Haden told police he had been taking similar pictures at Eau Claire stores for the past two months.
Police examined Von Haden's camera and cell phone and found 57 pictures up women's skirts.

Thats not what we should do. He should get his fair judgement and we should all forgive and forget and give him a second chance. We've all made mistakes haven't we? We aren't the ones to judge if one is worse than the other

This is a terrible thing. This man should have to wear a skirt and have people take pictures of him while he shops. Then he should have to wear a sign outside the store that says "I took pictures up women's skirts." That should teach him a lesson.

Jpegmasterjesse - First of all, interesting screen name; however, I feel like Yoda when saying it. Second, to say that society's values have nothing to do with this is completely inaccurate. Your statement itself in contradicting. Perverts and sexual deviants have existed as long as humans have because various societies have valued such behavior. These values, or lack thereof, eventually spread through mediums such as art, music, and what is considered beautiful. Take, for example, your run-of-the-mill anime. Children view it as a simple cartoon. Teens view the characters as innocent, attractive, and heroic. Adults in some cultures, if you do your homework and research its development and use, view it in a sexual manner which some would refer to as pedophilia. So, yes, what society values can have a huge impact on what we consider to be appropriate vs. inappropriate.

This guy should get life in jail, maybe people would then start to think twice before doing something so disturbed!

It's naive to think that society values have anything to do with this. Perverts and sexual deviants have existed as long as humans have, all society does is define what "perversion" is.
This is simply a common pervert using technology to reach his ends.

To be expected in a society than values women for what they look like instead of what they can do.
