CHIPPEWA FALLS – Two Gurnee, Ill., residents were injured shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday when the Jeep Liberty they were riding in on Highway 29 in the Chippewa County town of Lafayette drifted to the median, hit a guardrail and flipped end over end three times before coming to rest on its top.
According to a press release from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, the westbound vehicle was being driven by Zachary L. Dust, 18, and the passengers were Paul A. Dust, 50, and Lori D. Dust, 48. The accident was reported at 6:12 p.m. The press release said one adult male and Lori Dust were taken to an Eau Claire hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The westbound lanes of Highway 29 were closed for about 45 minutes.
