The parents of a 21-year-old Eau Claire man who drowned in July 2011 in the Chippewa River have filed a wrongful death suit claiming another man played a role in his death.

Larry and Anita Fike, individually and as administrators of their son Joseph's estate, allege Andrew Grill of Eau Claire saw Joseph Fike's head go below the water while they were swimming across the Chippewa River during the early morning hours of July 20, 2011, or caused him to be submerged.
