Rahlenbeck, Albert J., Age 87, of Eau Claire, WI; formerly Estero, FL and Richfield, MN; died peacefully at Clearwater Care Center in Eau Claire on January 1, 2017.
Albert was born in Münster, Germany on March 4, 1929. He grew up in the Ruhr District in Germany, but called Rheine his home. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1953 and married Hilde Schulz on June 10, 1955. Mr. Nussbaum graciously offered to sponsor the young couple to the United States, and in 1958 they moved to Minneapolis, MN and later to Richfield, MN where they lived for over 35 years.
Albert worked at Hitchcock Industries as a precision welder most of his career. He was a Master Gardener and was very proud of his home and beautiful gardens. He enjoyed his family and friends, telling stories and reciting poetry, gardening and building things.
Albert is survived by daughters, Marita Rahlenbeck of Bloomington, MN; Barb (Tom) Berg of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Elizabeth Bierman of Cottage Grove, MN; Garrett Berg & Travis Berg; sister and brother-in-law, Ursula and Hans Brücke of Rheine, Germany; sister-in-law, Helga Rahlenbeck of Düren, Germany; many nieces residing in Germany. He was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Josephine Rahlenbeck; sister, Ilse; brother, Rolf; all of Germany.

A memorial service celebrating both Albert and Hilde will be held at Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, MN on January 30, 2017, 11 a.m.
