Marlene Ann Ebert, age 80, of Menomonie, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 7, 2017 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.
Marlene was born on August 12, 1936 in Menomonie to Louis and Jennie (Harrington) Greene. She attended Hilltop Grade School and graduated from Menomonie High School. After high school, she completed some bookkeeping courses.
During her younger years, Marlene worked at the G & R Grill, and White Front Café. She later worked for First National Bank which became First Bank & Trust and now Dairy State Bank for many years retiring in 1998.
Marlene married Walter “Skip” Ebert on April 3, 1956 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Irvington Booster Club, Irvington ATV Riders Association, Trails North ATV Club, as well as being a charter member of the Irvington-Weston Snowmobile Club. Marlene enjoyed gardening, canning, animals, music, dancing, crossword puzzles, reading, trout fishing, and spending time at the cabin with family and friends.
Marlene is survived by her daughter Lynn Ebert; sister, Mary (Richard) McIntyre; brother, John Greene; sister-in-law, Jane Greene-Wear; three nephews, Timothy (Shonnah) McIntyre, Corey and Jesse Greene; one niece, Michele (Jeff) McIntyre-Welty; and her special dog Hobo. She was also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter “Skip” Ebert; son, Craig Ebert; brother, Gary Greene; and niece, Suzie Snorek.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Aaron Schulz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Olson funeral home in Menomonie is serving the family.
