Jane Jonas

Jane E. Jonas passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at her home in Bozeman, MT, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Jane was born in Eau Claire, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where she obtained a degree in English. She married Ric Jonas on August 4, 2004, and together they ran Ric’s trucking business, Arbor Freight, in Eau Claire, while splitting their time between the lake cottage in WI and their house in MT.

Jane settled full time in Bozeman several years ago and spent her time skiing, horseback riding, hiking, and volunteering her time as a board member of the Bridger Bowl Foundation and the Emerson Cultural Center. She is a published author, having released a new novel and a children’s book, written with her granddaughter Emma, just before her death.

She is survived by sons, Jesse (Erika) LaDousa and their children Emma and Eloise, son Micah (Aimee) LaDousa and their child Lyra, and daughter Cate (Andy) Emerick and their children Drew and Elyse. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ric Jonas; her mother, Marian Erickson; and her father, Paul Erickson.

Funeral services will be held at Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service in Bozeman on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Bridger Bowl Foundation. A secondary memorial will be held in Wisconsin in the spring.
