STOUGHTON — Jeannie Marie “Jean” Rose, age 63, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 15, 1954, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Eugene and Marcella (DeVore) Hibbard. Faith was strong in Jean’s heart, and she was a long time member of City Church. Jean was always in awe of the beautiful nature that surrounded her. Her favorite place was up north at the lake where she felt at peace. She was gifted in interior design and she adored animals, especially her cat, Sadie. She loved music and was also a great gardener. Jean was a dreamer, she saw beauty and potential in everything and everyone she met. One of her greatest gifts was being hospitable. For the past 14 years she was a successful entrepreneur, owning a unified adult family home where the elderly and disabled were cared for. She was very close to her family and friends.
Jean is survived by her father, Eugene; daughter, Nicole (Danny) Orvick; three sisters, Julie Horstman, Pam (Peggy) Hibbard and Kathie (Scott) Emerson; two grandchildren, Payton and Rylan Orvick; four nephews, Justin Horstman, Jerrid Horstman, Jordan Horstman and John Hibbard; two nieces, Alissa (Colin) Altenburg and Haley Emerson; and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally; two brothers, Michael and John Hibbard; and the love of her life, James “Mike” Rose.
A celebration of life will be held at City Church, 4909 E. Buckeye Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday March 9, 2018. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. A second gathering of family and friends to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at Ojibwa Golf Course, 8140 136th St., Chippewa Falls from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, all donations will go to Jean’s favorite organization, The Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231.
