Lorraine M. Koehler, 93, of Bloomer, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire with her family at her side. Lorraine was born on June 14, 1924, in Cooks Valley, the daughter of Fred and Ann (Pfiefer) Poirier. She attended school at St. John’s Catholic School in Cooks Valley and graduated from Colfax High School. Lois Lenore (Ganong) Squires, 88, of Menomonie, WI, passed away of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Clarence E. Hakes, 90, of the town of Lafayette, Chippewa Falls died peacefully at home on January 19, 2018. He was born January 8, 1928 to Robert and Louisa (Adrian) Hakes. In 1946 he was drafted into the US Army and served in the Philippines. Clarence retired from the Northern Center after 34 years of employment. Paul Howard Cruger went to live with his maker and parents (Howard and Annabelle Cruger) on January 15, 2018, at the age of 69. He is survived by his two sisters, Marnie McAvoy and Carol Hasledalen; and his brother, Dan Cruger; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
