Samuel R. Farlow, age 79, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born on September 5, 1937 in Bottineau, ND, to Samuel and Roberta (Thompson) Farlow. Sam worked as a mechanical design engineer, but he truly loved teaching mechanical design at Rice Lake Technical College. He married Jennifer (Davis) Nelson on October 17, 1998 at our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Sam enjoyed listening to music, reading (especially WWII novels), cartography, and sci-fi movies. He was a member of the Barron County railroad club and fascinated with everything involved with the rail. From model trains to taking trips cross country with Jennifer he was a train enthusiast.
