Adeline L. Sorenson, 83, of Eau Claire, Wis., passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at her residence after a short battle with cancer while under hospice care.
Adeline was born the daughter of Reinold and Goldie (Brummond) Dehnke on October 18, 1927, in Eau Claire. She married August Knudson Jr. in 1945 in Eau Claire. After his death, Adeline was employed at Fabri-Tec, JC Penney, Presto, and Happy Sleeper. She married Millard Sorenson in 1964 and later divorced. Adeline was a gentle soul and loved by all who knew her.
Adeline is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn Miller of Mondovi, Wis., and Joan (James) Walker of Fall Creek, Wis.; one very special stepdaughter, Connie Gunderson of Big Fork, Mont.; three stepsons, Doug, Greg and Rick Sorenson; two brothers, Herman Dehnke and Richard (Mary) Dehnke; one sister-in-law, Helen Dehnke; three grandchildren, Troy, Jimmy and Lynn; six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Sydney, Amy, Jeremy, Paige and Cynthia; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Adeline is preceded in death by her parents, Reinold and Goldie; husband, August Knudson Jr.; son, Jack; two sisters, Geraldine and Esther; one brother, Harvey; and one son-in-law, John Miller.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Chapel in Eau Claire.
Friends may call two hours prior to service.
Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Pastor Christine Emerson from St. John's Lutheran Church will be officiating.
