The UW-Eau Claire offense has gotten used to this.
Every week it seems the Blugolds are in need of some big numbers to keep themselves in games.
And Saturday was no different.
Kyle Paulson threw four touchdowns and Cory Sartorelli rushed for two more as UW-Eau Claire's offense was just good enough to top UW-Oshkosh, 44-35, in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at J.J. Keller Field in Oshkosh.
Paulson completed 17 of 23 pass attempts for 213 yards and found David Goodman for three scores, while Sartorelli finished with 117 yards on 33 carries.
Goodman caught five balls for 98 yards in the game.
But despite lighting up the scoreboard, UW-Eau Claire (4-4 overall, 2-3 WIAC) had to sweat out its fourth victory of the season.
The Titans (4-4, 2-3) led 14-0 early on and put up a bulky 527 total yards of offense - 358 of which came courtesy of quarterback Nata Wara and the passing game.
UW-Stout 35, UW-La Crosse 28: Craig Warminski ran for 128 yards and three touchdowns as the Blue Devils sunk the Eagles at Veterans Memorial Field in La Crosse.
Warminski scored on runs of 1, 2 and 11 yards in the game.
Quarterback Ross Carey got into the action in the running game as well. He ran 12 times for 161 yards for the Blue Devils, who finished with 310 yards on the ground.
Carey's 34-yard TD run at the start of the fourth quarter opened up a back-and-forth game.
Carey also completed 13 of 16 passes for 131 yards, including a 6-yard scoring strike to Patrick Mengelkoch in the second quarter.
Reid Oldenburg led the Eagles with 180 yards and three TDs on the ground.
UW-River Falls 31, UW-Platteville 28 (OT): Falcons quarterback Ryan Luessenheide connected with Ryan Hansen for a 9-yard score on the final play of regulation, and then Chad Blair won it with a 30-yard field goal in overtime.
UW-Whitewater 41, UW-Stevens Point 12: Levell Coppage recorded three touchdowns as the No. 2-ranked Warhawks took sole possession of first place in the conference with a win over the Pointers. Coppage ran 23 times for 199 yards and scored on runs of 68, 3 and 36 yards.
Jared Beckwith threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns, and Jared Jenkins caught four balls for 141 yards and a score for UW-Stevens Point.
