CHIPPEWA FALLS — A 50-year-old Chippewa Falls woman accused of possessing child pornography and being party to soliciting a child for prostitution was convicted Friday of mental harm to a child and possession of methamphetamine. Nancy M. Johnson, 890 Pumphouse Road, pleaded no contest in Chippewa County Court to both counts, which are felonies. Judge James Isaacson ordered a pre-sentence investigation by the state Department of Corrections and set a sentencing date for July 16.
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Cornell man who assaulted a man in his home in 2016 and also beat up a woman in a separate incident was convicted in both cases Tuesday. Dustin G. Sachsenmaier, 34, 112 S. Second St., pleaded no contest to substantial battery-intent to cause bodily harm, possession of a firearm by a felon, strangulation and suffocation, and bail jumping in Chippewa County Court. Judge Steve Cray set sentencing for June 7. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered. Sachsenmaier is free
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Bloomer man who was convicted of a sexual assault in 2002 has been sentenced to 2½ years in prison after being convicted of sexual assaulting a 19-year-old woman last April. Barry J. Zurn, 33, 21240 Highway AA, pleaded no contest Thursday to third-degree sexual assault in Chippewa County Court. He was already in the Stanley Correctional Facility because of a drunken driving conviction. The sexual assault occurred April 4. Chippewa County District Attorney Wade
