Sydnie Paulsrud of Eau Claire was selected as the 2019 Wisconsin Honey Queen during the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association annual convention in late November in Wisconsin Rapids.

Paulsrud is the daughter of Thea and Brian Weinberger of Eau Claire and Jack Paulsrud of Augusta. She is a freshman at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, majoring in childcare services. Prior to her selection as the Wisconsin Honey Queen, Paulsrud served as the Chippewa/Eau Claire County Honey Queen.

Paulsrud will spend the rest of this year promoting the beekeeping industry in Wisconsin. She is available to speak with civic groups and appear at fairs, festivals and farmers’ markets. She will also give presentations in schools about honeybees and the beekeeping industry. In January 2020, Paulsrud will represent Wisconsin at the American Honey Queen competition at the American Beekeeping Federation Convention in Schaumberg, Ill.
