For the past three years Wisconsin Rural Women’s Initiative has gathered women in rural areas to explore issues especially relevant to women in the second half of life. Women over the age of 50 are invited to a “Coffee and Conversation” from 10 a.m to noon on June 18 at the Frances L. Simek Memorial Library in Medford. Participants can enjoy warm cups of coffee or tea and a continental breakfast provided by Marilyn’s Fire Station and Catering.

Coffee and Conversation is one of the programs offered by Wisconsin Rural Women’s Initiative to women, particularly those in rural areas of the state, as part of its broader program “Eldering with Attitude.”

Participants will learn what it means to Elder with Attitude, offer ideas about the issues faced during this life stage and receive resources. Meeting with other women who share the same questions and issues is another benefit of the gathering. Those involved are encouraged to meet new friends, bring old ones and experience the supportive environment of a Gathering Circle.
