The 56th annual World Snowmobile Championships were held Jan. 18-20 at the World Championship Derby Complex in Eagle River.

Blaine Stephenson of Minnesota defended his title in the main event, giving Polaris its third straight crown and fifth title in the last 10 years.

“To win it once is a dream come true,” Stephenson said. “But to do it twice, back to back, I guess we’ll have to chase history next year for three. This is awesome.”
