Chippewa Valley Technical College will host a beginning beekeeper class meeting once a week starting Feb. 9 and running through Oct. 19. Classes will be from 9 a.m. to noon, with meeting flexibility from June to September.
The class is designed to help those interested in starting their own hives or who just want to learn more about bees. It will be taught by Jodi Lepsch and includes lessons on types of bees, establishing and keeping a hive and winterizing a hive.
Estimated cost to attend the one credit class is $150, with additional optional fees to buy a hive for the class, which can be taken home at the completion of the class. Students will need to buy required protective equipment to participate.
