Therapeutic photography will be the topic for a soup lunch and program at noon Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Long Lake Lutheran Church in Sarona.

Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary will host the event. Presenter Ian Karl of Northwest Passage is experiential learning coordinator for Northwest Passage. He will describe the therapeutic photography program, In a New Light, a constellation of strength-based therapeutic programs that harness the power of art and nature and operate under the principles of positive psychology.

Programs aim to empower children in residential treatment at Northwest Passage to perceive themselves through a lens of strength and awe-inspiring accomplishments. By sharing their story, In a New Light gives marginalized children a voice to prove to the world that they are profoundly worthy of society’s investment.

Registration is not necessary, and the program is free. Freewill donations will be accepted to help fund environmental education programming at Hunt Hill, a nonprofit nature preserve and learning center. For more information, visit or call 715-635-6543.
