Hikers on the Ice Age Trail in Wisconsin could have a new opportunity as plans to open a new half-mile move forward.
The addition will give hikers space away from Waterville Road and improve the existing Waterville Segment with a new, 430-foot-long boardwalk. Volunteers are needed for the multi-day stewardship event. No experience is needed and there’s space for all abilities and ages.
Check-in is at Ottawa Town Park, S31W36131 CTH-D, Dousman. Work begins Wednesday, Sept. 5 and wraps up Sunday, Sept. 19. Organizers anticipate the work days beginning around 8 a.m. each day and wrapping up around 4:30 p.m. Sunday’s work will end by noon.
Registration can be done online at https://bit.ly/3yz1llP. Registration should be completed by Sunday, Sept. 12. Volunteers must also complete a service agreement form.
