The third annual Hickory Feast featuring a four-course menu of foods with a hickory nut theme will be 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct 8, at the Old Hickory Golf Club in Beaver Dam. Reservations must be made by Sept. 30.

The menu features a mixed green salad topped with hickory nuts, bleu cheese and cranberries; Ogwissimanabo, a Native American yellow squash soup with hickory; a pork porterhouse steak entrée with hickory bourbon glaze; side dishes of buttered parsley potatoes and green beans; and hickory nut turtle cheesecake served with hickory mesquite smoked coffee.

Hickory nut entrepreneur Linda Schaalma of Juneau will be the guest speaker. Schaalma’s parents sold hickory nuts at the Dane County Farmer’s Market for more than 25 years. In 2004, she and her father, Ray Pamperin, started a successful online business as Ray’s Hickory Nuts.

Old Hickory Golf Club is offering reduced golf fees to Hickory Feast attendees on the day of the meal. Call for tee times at 920-887-7179.
