Irish music, dancing and other revelry at two events will help celebrate Patrick’s Day on Saturday in Eau Claire.

• O’Claire Irish Festival will be from 3 to 9 p.m. at North High School, 1801 Piedmont Road.

• WHYS Radio’s Lucky 13th annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration & Shortest Sidewalk Parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. in downtown Eau Claire.

O’Claire Irish Festival includes vendors, activities for kids, firetrucks and police cars, photo booth, silent auction, raffles and prizes, balloons and face painting, limerick competitions, food and music.

Performances include Celtic harp by O’Meara Music, 3:30 p.m.; Irish dance demonstration, 4 p.m.; Irish bagpipes, 4:30 p.m.; Irish heritage presentation, 5 p.m.; Uilleann pipe and pennywhistle, 5:30 p.m.; Irish dance show by Janelle’s School of Irish Dance, 6 p.m.

WHYS Radio’s festivities begin with the parade, for which community participation is welcomed. Those interested can gather in the parking lot of 405 S. Farwell St., across the street from the transfer center. The destination is Acoustic Cafe, 505 S. Barstow St.

General Hardware, a Morris dance group from Dunn County, will entertain parade attendees from 5:20 to 5:30 p.m.

Signs observing Irish heritage, green clothing and walking shoes are encouraged.

Bagpiper Scott Bartell will lead the parade to the Acoustic Cafe for an evening of traditional and contemporary Irish music by Irish Diplomacy and U.K.E. Ukulele Klub of Eau Claire and a dance performance by BaredFeet Company from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event will include music, food, drinks, singalongs, jokes, limericks, a silent auction and an art sale featuring music posters created by Ambient Inks.

Admission is a donation with proceeds benefiting WHYS (96.3 FM), Eau Claire’s community radio station. Seating is limited to the capacity of Acoustic Cafe.

The official St. Patrick’s Day celebration is Sunday.
