Downstage Left theater company will present "God of Carnage" at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday at the Grand Theatre, 102 W, Grand Ave.
Jake Lindgren is directing the production; featured are Molly Barnes, Amber Dernbach, Josh Ingersoll, & CJ Krueger.
The play won the 2009 Tony Award for best play and London's Olivier Award as best comedy. The theater group describes the play as follows:
A playground altercation between 11-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.
Winner of the 2009 Tony Award, the play earned raves from the New York Times, Variety, Newsday and Entertainment Weekly, among others.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $15 for students and are available online at brownpapertickets.com/event/4047305.
