Justin Vernon returns to Oxbow

The Oxbow Hotel is bringing back Bon Iver-front man and part-owner of the hotel Justin Vernon for two more Lock Inn events on Thursday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Nov. 20. 

Lock Inn events feature Vernon and his bandmate Sean Carey, performing live music during a six-course dinner created by The Lakely’s chef Nathan Berg. Musical performances by Vernon’s friends are also expected to take place, according to a news release from the hotel. 

Tickets for both evenings go on sale at 10 a.m. today until gone. Tickets can be purchased at volumeonetickets.org.

Packages start at $300 per person (minimum two people) and include an overnight stay at The Oxbow, six-course dinner, live musical performances throughout the evening, a late-night movie showing, morning Vinyl Vinyasa yoga session, brunch, a limited-edition event poster and late check-out.

ECCT holds auditions 

The Eau Claire Children’s Theatre will hold auditions for two upcoming productions on Monday, Aug. 20, and Tuesday, Aug. 21, at The Oxford, 1814 Oxford Ave.

Auditions for “Pinkalicious” will be at 5:30 p.m. both days. Roles are available for five girls ages 8 to 13 and one boy ages 8 to 12. One adult male, one adult female and an additional adult role also are available.

Those auditioning should prepare a 30- to60-second cutting from a Broadway or Disney musical and bring their own accompaniment. 

Auditions for “Our Town” will be at 7 p.m. both days. Roles are available for 17 males and seven females ages 9 to adult. Some ensemble roles also are available. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Tribute groups come to Pablo Center

BruMar Productions announced several tribute shows scheduled to take place during the inaugural season of the Pablo Center at the Confluence, 128 Graham Ave. 

Jim Curry will present the Music of John Denver on Friday, Nov. 9. Curry is an acclaimed performer whose voice was heard in the CBS-TV movie “Take me Home: The John Denver Story.” He has performed Denver’s music throughout the country. 

On Friday, Jan. 18, Eaglemania, “The World’s Greatest Eagles Tribute Band,” will make its Eau Claire debut at the Pablo Center. Their show consists of Eagles’ greatest hits and solo work from Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh. 

The band TUSK, “The World’s Number One Tribute to Fleetwood Mac,” will perform Saturday, April 13. The international group has been making music together for more than 25 years. 

Tickets to all shows will go on sale along with the rest of the Pablo Center’s season tickets on Aug. 23. They can be purchased through pablocenter.org. The Pablo Center’s box office will open on Sept. 22 during the arts center’s grand opening celebration, and tickets can then also be purchased in person or over the phone.
