The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild will present "Legally Blonde the Musical" Thursday, Aug. 5, through Sunday, Aug. 8, at Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 S. High St., Chippewa Falls.
The musical, based on the popular film starring Reese Witherspoon, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.
Elle's life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
The show was nominated for multiple Tony and Olivier awards and won Olivier awards for Best New Musical, Best Actress in a Musical (Sheridan Smith) and Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Jill Halfpenny).
Show times are at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 through 7 and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 8.
