MENOMONIE — UW-Stout's Symphonic Singers and Chamber Choir will host a World War I centennial commission concert at 7 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 910 Ninth St. E.

The event will be conducted by assistant professor Jerry Hui with pianist Michaela Gifford. It will highlight stories from the Christmas Truce of World War I, when soldiers from both sides ceased fire on Christmas to sing carols and exchange gifts.

The concert will mostly feature music from the United Kingdom, Germany and France composed during the war. The audience will be invited to join in for some of the carols.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at uwstout.universitytickets.com or by calling 715-232-1122.
